Hockey: Blackbirds eliminate Wooster with sweep in Minnesota Junior League playoffs

DYER — Realisically, it would be difficult to expect the Illiana Blackbirds to score as often in Game 2 of their Minnesota Junior League second-round playoff series against Wooster as they did in Game 1.
But the way the Blackbirds have played in the playoffs the same results were not out of the question. The Blackbirds eliminated Wooster from the playoffs with a 4-1 win in Dyer on Saturday night for their second straight 2-0 playoff victory.
Nicholas Townes, who had a hat trick and two assists in Friday’s 10-1 Blackbirds win, scored a goal for Illiana.
