Imagination Glen to host Trail X-treme Run

Runners are guaranteed to get muddy at the Memorial Day Trail Run X-treme at Portage’s Imagination Glen Outback Trail on May 27.
Youths are also invited to the Portage event, but will utilize a tamer course on the park’s soccer fields and trails. The kid’s mile race starts at 8:15 a.m. and the adult race kicks off at 9 a.m.
Fees for the 12K are $25 for those registered by Monday. This early sign-up will include an X-treme Run technical T-shirt. The cost for registration after May 13 through race morning is $30. Fees for youth participants are $15 for those preregistered by May 13 (T-shirt included) and $20 after that.
The 12K run is a Gold Cup, XYZ Series race. All proceeds from the race go to Gabriel’s Horn Homeless Shelter and the Outback Trail Commission. Original runner’s art awards will be presented and a Memorial Day cookout will be hosted for all participants after the race.

Leon’s Tri demo day: Leon’s Triathlon will be hosting a demo day on from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. June 1 at Wolf Lake Memorial Park in Hammond. The family-fun event will showcase a variety of active-lifestyle sports and products in addition to triathlon gear.
Visitors can enjoy food and entertainment, as well as educational opportunities with professional athletes discussing their training, gear and nutrition. Paddleboards will be available for test rides.

Zumba classes: Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what Party & Zumba is promising to those who participate in the classes at The Diggz studios.
The Diggz of Northwest Indiana (4590 W. 61st Ave., Hobart) is rolling out classes for the fitness dance from 6 to 6:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Costs are $7 per class, or 10 sessions for $50. As a bonus, the first class will be offered for free.

IUN’s Hawkins to host hoops camp: IUN coach Jason Hawkins will hold his eighth annual basketball camp at Bishop Noll from 9 a.m. to noon July 29 to Aug. 1.

Cunningham hoops camp set: Andrean basketball coach Carson Cunningham will hold a basketball camp from 9 a.m. to noon on June 17-20 at the school. The camp is open for boys and girls ages 7-15.
