On Saturday three championship teams emerged and two squads shared a co-championship in the tournament for Diocese of Gary Catholic Schools.
St. John the Evangelist School of St. John earned the title in the CYO eighth-grade division defeating St. Michael School of Schererville. The Eagles notched a win in the first game, 25-20, and earned the title beating the Warriors 25-13 in the second contest.
In the seventh-grade division, St. Mary School of Crown Point gained the championship by winning a three-game set over St. Paul School of Valparaiso. The St. Mary Wildcats lost the first game to the Panthers, 19-25, but evened the set by flipping the score for a 25-19 win in game two. The deciding contest went to the Wildcats 15-8.

The St. John the Baptist School Trojans of Whiting earned the fifth-grade championship over the St. Paul Panthers (team No. 1) in a two-game set, 21-15 and 21-8.
