St. Patrick’s no-tap
The Lakeshore Bowling Association will hold its annual St. Pat’s 9-pin no-tap open tournament (men and women) on Sunday, March 16 and 23 (squads at noon) at Hobart Lanes. The entry fee is $30 with a deadline to enter of March 9. There’s a special mixed doubles event for an extra $10 per male-female team. March Madness event
The NCCA basketball tournament is still a couple weeks away, but Lakeshore Lanes in Michigan City is hosting a March Madness tourney at 1 p.m. on Sunday (check-in at noon) with $700 for first place (based on 50 entries). The format is three games of qualifying across six lanes, cutting to the top 32 for bracket-style match play. The entry fee is $60, which includes on bracket sidepot entry. Stardust III tourneys
Stardust Bowl III in Dyer will be hosting its 11th annual March 9-pin no-tap tourney starting March 14 and running through March 30. The entry is $25 if pre-registered, $30 on day of squad, and $20 for re-entries. First place pays $1,000 based on 315 entries with 1-in-9 cashing. Handicap is 80 percent of a 200 average.
The 48-lane center will also start its King of the Hill spring session on Friday, March 21 with the first tough oil pattern Kegel’s Highway to Hell 40-footer. The entry is $25 with start time at around 10:45 p.m. For details on either event, call 322-3666.
