BEARS 3-AND-OUT: A missed catch, Griffin takes off, keeping focus

Updated: October 20, 2013 11:30PM

THREE
AND OUT

1. A missed catch

Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery might have been double-covered, but he had a good chance to catch the pass from quarterback Jay Cutler that led to Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo’s 29-yard pick-six in the second quarter. “It looked like a place where Alshon would squeeze that ball and come down with it, but he didn’t,” coach Marc Trestman said.

2. Griffin
takes off

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had a lot of success with play-action bootlegs, whether it was buying time or taking off. He had season highs of 11 carries and 84 yards. “We felt in sync for the first time,” Griffin said. “The scoreboard reflected it.”

3. Keeping focus

Redskins receiver Aldrick Robinson thought safety Chris Conte interfered with him when Conte bumped into him and fell on Robinson’s 45-yard touchdown catch. But it didn’t hinder Robinson, who made the catch over cornerback Charles Tillman. “I felt the bump,” Robinson said. “It didn’t affect me at all.”
